Get to Know Us

Jungle Yoga is a fun activity club designed for children and teens. 

 

Through playful movement and interactive activities we help kids develop mindfulness, creativity, resilience and confidence. 

 

We work in community centres and schools to bring yoga and mindfulness to children in our local community.

Benefits of yoga for children

All our classes are suitable for beginners and full of playful movements and fun, engaging games. We combine these with mindful and self-affirming activities, creative crafts, thought provoking short stories, songs and poems to promote children's holistic development.

 

There is NO expectation or requirement for anyone to be sitting still & quiet! All classes encourage children to be active and have fun.

As well as having fun, through a course of yoga sessions we might expect to learn: 

  • Different poses to strengthen our bodies 

  • How to exercise our imaginations by creative games 

  • Confidence though sharing and leading activities with the group 

  • Breathing techniques that help us gain composure and reduce stress & anxiety 

  • How to decompress in a safe space

  • Empathy for one another by working in small groups

  • To focus our mind & bodies on short simple tasks and improve concentration

  • To pause, use our attention and reasoning to respond appropriately and develop our inhibitory control
